Since 1887, Cooper University Health Care has been a committed partner with the Cooper Plaza and Lanning Square neighborhoods. As Cooper’s community development and outreach arm, The Cooper Foundation continues to build partnerships with local civic associations, nonprofit organizations and government agencies on revitalization efforts and initiatives that support local children and their families.

Community Parks and Streetscape Improvements

Cooper provides the upkeep and maintenance for community parks, including the Joan S. Davis Park on 7th Street, the Sheila L. Roberts Park on 6th and Washington Street, and Triangle Park on Haddon and Newton Avenues in Cooper Plaza.

KIPP Cooper Norcross Academy

Through a partnership with The Cooper Foundation, KIPP Team Schools and the Norcross Foundation, KIPP Cooper Norcross Academy at Lanning Square – New Jersey’s first privately run and publicly financed Renaissance school project – plans to open in fall 2014.
