11th Annual Cooper Red Hot Gala Raises $2.3 Million

CAMDEN CAMPUS COMBO

CAMDEN, N.J. — The Chairman of Cooper University Health Care Board of Trustees, George E. Norcross III, and Cooper Foundation Chairman, Philip A. Norcross, announced today that The Cooper Foundation has raised a record-breaking $2.3 million at its 11th Annual Red Hot Gala. Originally scheduled to be held at the Triad1828 building on the Camden waterfront, the gala was changed to a virtual format out of concern for the safety of guests during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“While COVID-19 may have prevented us from gathering together in person once again, the pandemic has not dampened the support of our loyal friends,” said Philip A. Norcross, Chairman of The Cooper Foundation Board of Trustees. “It is because of our donors unwavering generosity and kindness that we are able to support the lifesaving programs and services at Cooper.”

“The Cooper Red Hot Gala has raised nearly $20 million in the last decade thanks to the steadfast support of generous individuals and the business community,” said George E. Norcross III, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Cooper Health System, Cooper University Hospital, and MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper. “Funds raised at the Red Hot Gala allow Cooper, the leading academic health system in the region and its only Level 1 Trauma Center, to provide the highest level of care to all we serve.”

“We thank our many sponsors who once again made this annual event a major success. We are honored by the community’s unwavering support for Cooper University Health Care and The Cooper Foundation,” said Kevin O’Dowd, JD, co-CEO of Cooper. “Funds raised will directly support Cooper team members who have shown incredible bravery, resiliency, and skill throughout this pandemic. We are inspired and grateful to our team for their service.”

“Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, the funds raised at events like this help Cooper better serve the community and our patients with a number of new programs, equipment, and facilities,” said Anthony J. Mazzarelli, MD, JD, MBE.
