Backpacks Bring Bright Beginnings to Cape May Students
In August, The Cooper Foundation donated 100 backpacks at the CGC Love Center’s Youth Explosion event, helping students start the school year strong with the supplies they need to succeed.
This donation is part of a broader program program run by The Cooper Foundation. Each year, The Cooper Foundation teams up with KIPP Cooper Norcross Academy (KCNA) to provide every enrolled student with a new backpack and school supplies to start the school year off right. These items, tailored to the teachers’ requests, are shipped directly to the four KCNA schools in Camden for distribution on the first day of school. This year, the initiative has expanded to include Cape May students, extending the reach of this impactful program.
Cooper employees have been the driving force behind Operation Back-To-School. In the past five years, thanks to our generous employees, The Cooper Foundation has donated thousands of brand-new backpacks. Monetary contributions ensure that KCNA students and now students from the Cape May region have the tools they need for a successful school year.
“The mission of Operation Back-To-School is simple: Cooper employees want to make sure that children in our communities have the tools they need to succeed,” said Lisa Morina, Senior Vice President & Chief Philanthropy Officer at The Cooper Foundation. “A new backpack and school supplies are the ultimate way to be prepared for a new year of learning.”
