Lessons about teamwork, friendship and the satisfaction that comes with making a last second basket, hitting a walk-off homerun, or scoring a winning goal, are often first experienced through youth sports.

The Camden Health and Athletic Association (CHAA) launched in June with a $1 million investment from The Cooper Foundation, the Norcross Foundation and Amerihealth New Jersey. CHAA’s mission is to expand health and athletic programs available to Camden youth.

This summer, CHAA hosted a Soccer Fest to expand the Camden Youth Soccer Club – tripling the number of kids and adding new fields in Cramer Hill. CHAA provided uniforms and equipment to every player.
