Celebrate Juneteenth with Cooper

Cooper Foundation Juneteenth

Come join the Cooper team as we reflect on the past, celebrate the present, and look forward to a future of unity.  

“We celebrate Juneteenth as recognition of an important event in our nation and to join with colleagues, friends, and members of the community to continue the vital work of making our society more inclusive.” – Ardella Coleman, MHR, MBA, CDE, CMP, Vice President, Diversity and Talent Acquisition at Cooper University Health Care.

Over the next couple weeks, Cooper is sponsoring multiple Juneteenth events in Camden County.

  • The Glassboro Juneteenth Festival will be held in the Glassboro Sports Complex from noon to 5 p.m. Click Here for More Information 
  • On Wednesday, June 19th, Camden City is having a few different events to commemorate the day. It will start with a flag raising at 10 a.m. at Wiggins Park. Following that will be a lunchtime concert from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Roosevelt Park Plaza. The last event of the day will be a celebration from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Roosevelt Park Plaza.                                                 
  • On Saturday, June 22nd there will be an HBCU & D9 event from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Millennium Skate world.  Click Here for More Information 
  • The Cherry Hill Juneteenth Parade and Festival takes place on Saturday, June 22nd from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Click Here for More Information 

In addition to those events, Cooper is hosting two days of celebration in four different locations. These events will feature remarks from Ardella Coleman, Cooper Vice President of Diversity and Talent Acquisition as well as a history of Juneteenth by Pastor David Wright. Songs and music will be provided by Pastor David Wright and the New York Fellowship Mass Choir. Refreshments and jazz music will be at the events as well. The details for these events are as follows: 

  • On Wednesday, June 19th, Cooper’s Camden Campus is hosting a celebration on the lawn at the corner of MLK Blvd. And Haddon Ave from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Also on the 19th, Cooper’s Cherry Hill Campus will host an event from 2 to 4 p.m.  
  • On Thursday, June 20th, Cooper’s Moorestown Campus will host an event from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Later in the day, Cooper’s Voorhees Campus is having their celebration between 2 and 4 p.m.
