On May 10, 2024, Cooper University Hospital and MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper in Camden, NJ buzzed with warmth and appreciation during the annual Mother’s Matter event. This special occasion, made possible by The Lauren Rose Albert Foundation “Mothers Matter” program, shows support for mothers in need.

This year 175 bags were delivered by volunteers to cancer patients at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper, moms of pediatric and NICU patients, new moms, trauma patient family members, and others who found themselves in the hospital on Mother’s Day.

Since 2001, the Lauren Rose Albert Foundation has reached out to mothers-in-need by donating thousands of gift bags overflowing with personal health and beauty care products to numerous health care facilities, women’s shelters and crisis programs, child care centers, and other community organizations during the week of Mother’s Day.

These gift baskets are designed to bring comfort to a diverse group of recipients and to uplift spirits and show solidarity during challenging times. Each basket served as a reminder that mothers are not alone, and their strength is recognized and appreciated.

But the impact of Mothers Matter goes beyond Mother’s Day. Throughout the year, volunteers from various backgrounds come together to assemble and deliver thousands of gift bags to women in need. Since its inception, Mothers Matter volunteers have delivered over 50,000 gift bags to various facilities, spreading a simple yet powerful message: “Mothers Matter.”
