Cherry Hill West Hosts Paul VI in Annual “Strike Out Cancer” Softball Event
(Cherry Hill, NJ) – The annual “Strike Out Cancer” event, hosted by the Cherry Hill West High School Girls Softball Team, raised $800 for MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper. This event was started seven years ago and has been running strong ever since, raising thousands for cancer care.
This year’s fundraiser took place on May 7, 2024, during a game against Paul VI High School. Cherry Hill West players wore pink jerseys, while Paul VI donned black and pink uniforms, showing their solidarity in the fight against cancer. The event featured the sale of concessions and “Strike Out Cancer” t-shirts, with contributions from both teams and their supporters.
The “Strike Out Cancer” event is a shining example of how sports can bring people together for a greater good. Through their efforts, the Cherry Hill West and Paul VI teams have shown that they are not just competitors on the field but also champions of a cause that transcends the game itself.
