City of Camden to Dedicate Park in Honor of Civic Leader and Community Organizer Sheila L. Roberts on June 20

The City of Camden will hold a park dedication ceremony at 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, to honor Sheila L. Roberts, the President of the Cooper Lanning Civic Association.

The park located at 6th & Washington Streets in Camden will be renamed the Sheila L. Roberts Park in recognition of Mrs. Roberts’ service to the City of Camden and the Cooper Lanning Neighborhood. City Council adopted the ordinance naming the park after Mrs. Roberts on March 12, 2013.

Following the park dedication ceremony, The Cooper Foundation will kick off its fourth annual “Summer in the City” concert series with a free evening performance by “To The Max.” The goal of the concert series is to help build a sense of community while showcasing the neighborhood parks and positive changes in the Cooper Plaza and Lanning Square neighborhoods.
