Community Groups Pay It Forward
Throughout the year, Cooper receives donations from small groups and organizations to enhance the patient experience and medical care. Recent contributions have benefited the new MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper:
- Cozies 4 Chemo (cozies4chemo.org), organized by Jeanna Vizzard and her daughter Meghan donated fleece blankets for chemo patients made by volunteers from the community.
- Caring Caps is a local knitters group that makes warm hats for chemo patients. On December 5, nurses from the chemo unit greet the representatives and accepted the donation of caps.
- Students and staff from Holy Trinity Regional School in Westville Grove, N.J., raised $485 through their Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. They donated the proceeds to support breast cancer research at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper.
