Construction Jobs for Camden Residents
Foundation Teams with Camden Mayor’s office to launch Camden Construction Careers Initiative
On Sept. 8, the Cooper Foundation along with Camden Mayor Dana Redd announced the Camden Construction Career Initiative to train Camden residents for construction jobs and connect construction work-ready residents with employment opportunities on Camden-based construction projects.
“Our goal is to provide Camden residents with the opportunity to participate directly in the city’s economic revival,” said Susan Bass Levin, Cooper Foundation President and CEO.
As a large presence in the city of Camden, Cooper University Health Care and the Cooper Foundation view projects such as this as an extension of our commitment to the health of the city and it residents. Norcross’s comments echo this sentiment, “As Camden continues to rise, we have a responsibility and obligation to residents to ensure they have access to the jobs that are being created by the city’s construction boom,” he said.
