Cooper Dedicates Board Room in Honor of Former President and CEO, Cooper Health System
On April 16, 2014, Cooper University Health Care dedicated the Board Room in the Roberts Pavilion in honor of Kevin G. Halpern. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of The Cooper Health System for 18 years from 1981 to 1999. Mr. Halpern never gave up on the future of Camden and his leadership paved the way for the Cooper Health Sciences Campus of today.
During his tenure, Cooper became a state-designated Level 1 Trauma Center, a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery, and was designated as the Regional Children’s Hospital for Southern New Jersey. He guided Cooper’s Board, physicians and hospital staff in the transformation of Cooper from a Camden-based community hospital into a tertiary-care teaching hospital and subspecialty referral center for the entire southern New Jersey region.
Attending the dedication ceremony were members of the Cooper Board of Trustees and senior leadership team and Mr. Halpern’s family.
