Cooper Helps Deliver Holiday Feast Fixings to Camden Residents
Residents of the Lanning Square and Cooper Plaza neighborhoods in Camden were treated to a holiday surprise on December 22. Staff from The Cooper Foundation joined together with representatives from Rowan University’s Camden campus, staff from the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, and local community leaders to provide turkeys and canned goods for holiday meals to more than 100 families.
Volunteers working with the Lanning Square neighborhood broke into teams to knock on doors and make personal deliveries. Residents were especially excited to welcome Foundation President and CEO Susan Bass Levin and Cooper Medical School Dean Paul Katz, MD to their homes.
“This gesture is a symbol of the commitment Cooper and Rowan have to the Camden community,” said Bass Levin. “This is our neighborhood, and these are our neighbors. We want families to know that we are here for them.”
The deliveries are an annual tradition around the holidays each year. Neighborhood leaders recommended families to receive supplies.
