Senior Executive Vice President and Acting Chief Operating Officer Dennis Pettigrew is supporting this year’s Red Hot Gala as a Red Hot Sponsor.

Throughout his more than 35 years in health care, Mr. Pettigrew has served as an administrator in hospitals across the country. His career has taken him to Mercy Health Partners in Cincinnati, Ohio; Washoe Health System in Reno, Nevada; and Erlanger Health System in Chattanooga, Tennessee. His educational roots are in Indiana, where he earned his Bachelor of Science from Purdue University and his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Ball State University.

In addition to his Cooper leadership, he is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Healthcare Financial Management Association and has served on the Boards of such organizations as the United Way and the American Cancer Society. In 1992, Mr. Pettigrew was named “CFO of the Year” by Modern Healthcare magazine.

One of his colleagues recently paid Mr. Pettigrew the ultimate compliment by saying, “He constantly searches for the right solution, not the quick solution.” In hospital administration, that’s saying quite a lot.
