Cooper Spotlight: Amanda & Lou DiMattia

Amanda and Lou DiMattia work together, live together, and give together — and they are happy to do all three. This husband and wife team are members of the 2019 Cooper Red Hot Gala Host Committee.

“Lou and I proudly support Cooper University Health Care,” states Amanda. “Giving to Cooper is a family tradition.”

Amanda was born and raised in South Jersey and credits her father, Michael Hartung, a member of the Cooper Foundation Board of Trustees, with instilling in her the importance of giving back to the community. “When I was 8 years old, my friend was helped by Cooper,” remembers Amanda. “That’s when my dad began supporting Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper and I promised him that I would continue his legacy.”

Lou met Amanda in 2007 and accompanied her to many Cooper events. It was through these events that he learned about Cooper’s mission and saw Amanda’s passion for the work Cooper does for its patients and the community. Lou said, “I am blown away by Cooper’s impact. They keep setting the bar higher and it’s great to be a part of that.”

Amanda and Lou, who both work for Cherry Hill Imports Auto Group, are generous supporters of the Cooper Red Hot Gala and support many initiatives of The Cooper Foundation throughout the year.

Amanda gives of her time as well. As a member of The Cooper Foundation Board of Trustees since 2009, she is committed to ensuring that Cooper is the best place to go for medical care in the region.

“We are inspired by Cooper’s growth and progress,” said Amanda. “We also appreciate that all the money raised by the Gala, and other Cooper events, stays local – impacting patients and people living right here in South Jersey. That’s important to us.”
