Investing in the Future of Health Care
in Cape May County

Cooper Foundation Cape Regional 7

The Cape Regional Foundation is now The Cooper Foundation.

With the welcoming of the Cape Regional family into Cooper University Health Care, we are honored to carry forward the incredible legacy built by generations of dedicated donors, volunteers, and community members.

Together, we are ushering in an exciting new era of philanthropy. One that builds on past achievements while expanding access to exceptional care for the future.

The Cape Regional Foundation was originally established in 1999 to raise philanthropic support and foster community involvement in strengthening health care at the Shore.

A New Era of Care at the Shore, Powered by Generosity.

Every gift remains local, directly benefiting lifesaving emergency care, advanced cancer treatments, and specialized programs tailored to the Jersey Shore community.

MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper: Now at the Shore

On July 2, 2025, Cooper University Hospital Cape Regional marked a transformative milestone: it is now an officially approved Radiation Oncology site of MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper.

This designation ensures that patients in Cape May and Atlantic counties can now receive cutting-edge radiation therapy close to home, delivered by a specialized team and guided by MD Anderson’s nationally recognized protocols.

It’s a powerful step forward in providing advanced cancer care to the region.

This achievement is part of a broader effort to bring more specialty services and enhanced care delivery to the Jersey Shore.

Philanthropy in Action: Faster, Smarter Emergency Care for Our Community

Earlier this year, Cooper Cape Regional Hospital also opened its newly expanded Emergency Department, made possible by $7.5 million in philanthropic support toward the $19.9 million project.

This upgrade adds nine patient bays, dedicated radiology equipment, and faster, more comprehensive emergency care.

A transformational $3 million pledge from the Larry L. Luing Family Foundation, Inc. names the Emergency Department in recognition of their commitment to strengthening care at the Shore.

Similarly, Thomas and Claire Brodesser Jr. have made an enduring impact through a remarkable $2 million pledge to name the Surgery Center and Cancer Center—further ensuring access to world-class care close to home.

Bringing Advanced Diagnostics to the Shore

Philanthropy is also driving growth in Radiology, now housed in a 15,000-square-foot expanded space featuring a state-of-the-art Interventional Radiology Suite, 128-slice CT scanner, X-ray and Ultrasound Suite, and Fluoroscopy Suite—bringing the most advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities in the county directly to the community.
