Don’t Miss It! – Free “Summer in the City” Concert Tonight
The Second Annual “Summer in the City” Music Festival kicks off tonight with a free concert at Cooper Commons Park. Local band “To the Max” will take the stage at 5:30 p.m. Free refreshments and children’s activities will also be provided.
Cooper Commons Park is located on Washington Street between Chambers and South 6th Streets behind Cooper University Hospital in Camden.
The “Summer in the City” Music Festival is sponsored by Cooper University Hospital, Garden State Discovery Museum, Campbell Soup Company and Subaru. It was planned and organized by The Cooper Foundation, Cooper’s Ferry Development Association, Cooper Lanning Civic Association, and Lanning Square West Residents in Action. The goal of “Summer in the City” is to promote community involvement and showcase the beautiful neighborhood parks and positive changes to the Cooper Plaza and Lanning Square neighborhoods.
This year, two concerts are scheduled for Cooper Commons Park, and two concerts are scheduled for Lanning Square Park. The remaining “Summer in the City” schedule is as follows:
July 21: “The Sensational Universal African Drum & Dance Ensemble” at Lanning Square Park
July 28: “Jimmy Jorge & The Latin Express” at Lanning Square Park
August 4: “Red KoolAde Jazz” at Cooper Commons Park (rescheduled from 7/7/11)
