Longtime Pink Roses Teal Magnolias supporter and Voorhees resident Rosemarie Diamond remembers the first time she attended the Pink and Teal Brunch.

She was invited by her friend and family member Mary Ann Todd, a Pink and Teal Co-Chair and breast cancer survivor.

“I was so inspired by the brunch, and by everything Cooper was doing to support people battling cancer,” Diamond said. “Yet I also realized how pervasive the disease is and how much work was ahead of us.”

Diamond has since invited guests of her own to attend the brunch and has given generously both personally and through her law firm Phelan Hallinan Diamond & Jones PC.

Last year, she was the lucky winner of two, first class round-trip United Airlines tickets as part of a raffle to support Pink and Teal.

Diamond said the stories shared by cancer survivors at the brunch each year bring tears to her eyes, but also strengthen her resolve to do more.

“As much progress as we have made, we need to get over the finish line and win the battle,” she said. “No one’s life is not touched by this disease.”

Diamond has seen firsthand how cancer directly affected Mary Ann and how it also affected her family and friends.

She is grateful to MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper for the care provided to Mary Ann and the difference it has made to their family.

“Through their work they have helped my friend and family member extend her life by more than 10 years,” Diamond said. “The ripple effect is incalculable.”

“Mary Ann is a mentor, a successful businesswoman, a friend to all,” Diamond continued. “These precious extra years have allowed her to continue to make a difference in our community and our family.”

The ninth annual Pink Roses Teal Magnolias Brunch will be held on Sunday, Oct. 28 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza in Cherry Hill. For tickets or more information, click here.
