First Harvest Credit Union Donates $3000 for Breast Cancer Research
First Harvest Credit Union’s Charitable Journey Program recently donated $3000 to The Cooper Foundation, benefitting MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper in support of breast cancer patients and research. This employee-led initiative raised $3000 through donations from both employees and members as part of the Pink Ribbon Program, with First Harvest contributing an additional $3000 in matching funds.
Established in 2015, Charitable Journey is driven by a dedicated team of employee volunteers committed to serving the community. In addition to quarterly fundraising efforts supporting local causes, the program designates each October to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research through MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper.
“At MD Anderson at Cooper, we see every day the remarkable difference generosity makes in the fight against breast cancer,” said Generosa Grana, MD, FACP, Director of MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper. “Every donation helps advance cutting-edge treatments while enhancing the care and support we provide to patients throughout their journey. These collective efforts also raise vital awareness about early detection and regular screenings—key steps that save lives.”
“We are proud to partner with and support The Cooper Foundation and MD Anderson Cancer Center in the extraordinary work that they do to advance healthcare in our region,” stated First Harvest President & CEO, Mike Dinneen.
