Employee Giving is a workplace campaign at Cooper University Health System managed by The Cooper Foundation and designed to raise funds for patient care, education and research, and community programs.

Depending on the fund you designate, donations from the Cooper Team are used to help our fellow team mates, our patients and the communities we serve.

Funds raised from past campaigns have been used to:

• Support The Patient in Need fund and Complementary Medicine Program at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper.
• Supply clinical and non-clinical departments with items to help staff perform their best or enhance the patient experience: blanket warmers, comfort care gift boxes, books & DVDs, specialized car
  seats for pediatric patients, mobile charging stations for patients and families at MD Anderson at Cooper, blenders and food containers for nutritionists, iPads and applications for speech therapy
  patients, art supplies and music supplies for our pediatric patients.
• Fund training, education, seminars and research projects.
• Fund equipment requested by our clinical team, such as a Transcranial Doppler System for Pediatrics. This item is used as a screening test to prevent complications in sickle cell patients. Previously, Cooper patients needing this screening had to travel elsewhere, but now they can stay at Cooper for this screening.
• Provide members of our community with meals, toys, books and back­-to­-school supplies.

It’s easy and convenient to donate! When you sign up for a bi-weekly payroll deduction, every pay period, starting in January, whatever amount you decide is automatically deducted from your paycheck and directed to the program of your choice. Bi-weekly payroll deductions will roll over from year to year. You can opt-in at any time of year, but January is the preference for most.

You can also choose to make a one-time payroll deduction or one-time donation by check, credit card or Apple Pay.

Yes, your donation is tax deductible. If you donate through a payroll deduction, you may claim the tax deduction in the year donations are deducted from your pay. Please refer to the “Deductions” section of your pay stub to review your donation amount. If you pay by check or credit card, we will send you a letter acknowledging your gift which can be used to claim a donation in the year you make the donation.

When you sign up for a bi-weekly payroll deduction, your donation will roll over from year to year so you won’t need to continually fill out the Employee Giving pledge form. You can make a change to your donation amount, fund designation or cancel your donation at any time by contacting The Cooper Foundation at 856-342-2222 or cooper-foundation@cooperhealth.edu

Once you are enrolled in the bi-weekly payroll deduction, we will send you a yearly reminder, in November, giving you the opportunity to make any changes to your bi-weekly deduction for the following calendar year.
