KIPP Cooper Norcross Academy Turf Field Ceremony
KIPP Cooper Norcross Academy celebrated the opening of a new turf field at its Lanning Square campus in Camden, NJ. Teachers, students, parents, community leaders, and NFL representatives gathered for a ribbon cutting at the new athletic field, which was installed thanks to a $250,000 grant from the Philadelphia Eagles through the National Football League Foundation Grassroots Program and a $250,000 matching grant from The Cooper Foundation.

PowerUp Food Distribution
To address food insecurity in Camden, The Cooper Foundation is partnering with Philabundance to provide food packs to more than 1,600 students at KIPP Cooper Norcross Academy’s three schools and Center for Family Services (CFFS) Head Start’s two Camden locations. This food distribution is part of The Cooper Foundation’s new neighborhood initiative, PowerUp, to address food insecurity for KIPP Cooper Norcross Academy and CFFS Head Start Program families and support workforce development, job-readiness training and financial literacy programs in the Cooper Plaza and Lanning Square neighborhoods. PowerUp is funded in part by a grant from the TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank America's Most Convenient Bank@.

We teamed up with United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey, Parkside Business & Community In Partnership and Cooper's Ferry Partnership to install a “Born Learning Trail” at Farnham Park in Camden. Local representatives and the Cooper University Health Care team enjoyed painting the whimsical designs on the trail which encourages kids and their caregivers to get outdoors to play and learn together.

Snowflake Fundraiser A Trauma Tradition
December 2016 marks the 8th annual “Season of Hope and Healing” snowflake fundraiser for the Cooper Trauma Center. Snowflakes purchased in honor or memory of loved ones adorn the DiFlorio Family Healing Garden throughout the month, and proceeds are used to purchase comfort bags for families of adult and pediatric patients admitted to the hospital. Each bag contains essentials, including a box of tissues, lip balm, a pen and notebook, water, hand sanitizer and a blanket.

4th Annual Berkowitz Family Foundation Lecture - "Story Slam"
On October 24, 2016 The Cooper Foundation, The Cooper Foundation and Cooper Medical School of Rowan University presented the Fourth Annual Berkowitz Family Foundation Lecture on Ethics and Humanism in Medicine. This year's program, a "Story Slam," took a modern approach to storytelling. Story Slam inspired discussion and reflection on some of the most challenging social, ethical, and emotional experiences our healthcare providers face.Thank you to each of the Story Tellers: Drs. The Cooper Foundation in partnership with the Johnny M Foundation celebrated the opening of the new Johnny M Playroom at Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper. The Johnny M Foundation has pledged $750,000 to establish the Johnny Murabito Child Life Program at Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper. In addition to the new playroom and family room, the gift will support the expansion of the activities offered by the Child Life Program, including art and music therapy.

Representatives from the Lauren Rose Albert Foundation delivered their signature Mothers Matter gift bags to MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper on December 9. The Cooper Foundation of the Cooper Health System unveiled a sign on July 26, 2013, in honor of Delores I. Males, RN, BSN, and a $15,000 gift from the Dollie I. Males Angel Fund to the Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper. A number of Dollie's family and friends were in attendance. Former Patient Presents $3,000 to The Cooper Foundation for Trauma Center
On April 3, 2013 Alyssa Lesher and her family presented The Cooper Foundation with a check for $3,000 in support of the Trauma Program. Lesher was severely injured in a car accident involving a negligent driver and spent more than two weeks in Cooper’s Trauma Intensive Care Unit (TICU). Today, while still on her own road to recovery, she is advocating the importance of safe driving through a special fundraiser at her school, Lenape High School, as well as a website to promote awareness within the community. Dedication of The Jaffe Family Women’s Care Center at Cooper
The Cooper Foundation announced that it has received a $250,000 gift from the family of longtime Cooper physician Ronald M. Jaffe, M.D. In recognition of the gift, the Women’s Care Center in Camden has been named in honor of Dr. Jaffe.
