Dr. Dyanne Westerberg is a multitalented multitasker. In addition to serving as Chief in the Department of Family Medicine, she has worked at the HOP clinic with students, she teaches at the Temple School of Podiatric Medicine, she spends time at schools teaching fourth and fifth graders about adolescence and body image, and she frequently gives community talks about eating disorders and celiac disease, two interest areas developed over a career in family medicine.

“I attended the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine because of my own family doctor,” she reports. “Watching him and what he did for us, and other families, showed me what was possible.” Dr. Westerberg continues to be active with the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, helping score board exams and participating in various standard-setting groups.

After medical school, Dr. Westerberg completed a three-year residency program in family medicine at Metropolitan Hospital-Parkview Division, followed by a one-year fellowship at Michigan State University, where she honed her teaching skills working with medical students.

Dr. Westerberg volunteered to participate in “Dancing with the Cooper Stars” in 2008. She was proud to take 3rd place in the competition, and she keeps her trophy prominently displayed in her home.
