Pierson Charities Gives $50K Boost to Breast Cancer Research and Patient in Need Fund
The Cooper Foundation received $50,000 from Pierson Charities on behalf of the Pink Roses & Teal Magnolias event hosted in April to support MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper.
Funds were raised by Pierson Charities for their second annual Golf Outing on September 22, 2023. With Cooper University Health Care being a local health care system, many employees, friends and family members have been treated by the Cooper Team, so Cooper holds a special place in all of their hearts which motivated them to give back.
The funds that have been donated to MD Anderson at Cooper will support breast cancer research and the “Patient in Need” fund, which provides small financial assistance grants for transportation, child care, prescriptions and other necessities to cancer patients in need. The grant also provides support for women in cancer treatment who need wigs and cosmetic support while undergoing treatment, who could otherwise not afford them.
Pierson Charities is the non-profit, philanthropic arm of RE Pierson Construction Company, a heavy highway company that performs work in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland (www.repierson.com)
