Pink Roses Teal Magnolias Brunch Raises $460,000 for Cooper Cancer Institute!
The Cooper Foundation announced that the second annual Pink Roses Teal Magnolias Brunch raised $460,000 for breast and gynecological cancer research and clinical programs at Cooper Cancer Institute.
“Today is a remarkable day in the fight against breast and gynecological cancer,” said Susan Bass Levin, CEO of The Cooper Foundation. “These funds will enable the outstanding doctors at Cooper Cancer Institute to offer new treatment approaches to help save the lives of women from across the region.”
More than 800 people attended the brunch, which was held at the Crowne Plaza in Cherry Hill, N.J. and honored Cooper doctors Tamara LaCouture, M.D. and David Warshal, M.D. for their commitment to helping patients beat cancer.

“It is a privilege for me to take care of patients and to help women and their families as they overcome cancer,” said LaCouture, Chief of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Cooper Cancer Institute. “The support from The Cooper Foundation and the community is tremendous and inspires me to continue my work in providing patients the best possible care with the best possible outcomes.”
Generosa Grana, M.D., Director of Cooper Cancer Institute and Kristin Brill, M.D., Director of the Janet Knowles Breast Cancer Center at Cooper joined Levin in presenting LaCouture and Warshal with the Pink and Teal Hero Award.
“I am humbled by the outpouring of support for our work at Cooper,” said Warshal, Head of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at Cooper Cancer Institute. “These funds will help advance innovative research that results in better treatment and brings us closer to discovering a cure.”
In addition to honoring LaCouture and Warshal, the Pink Roses Teal Magnolias Brunch featured stories from cancer survivors and included a “Survivor Walk” to recognize all cancer survivors in attendance. Guests also participated in a health fair, silent auction and raffle.
The brunch was co-chaired by Joan Davis, vice chairwoman of Cooper University Hospital along with Janet Knowles, Dara Marcozzi, Elaine Procacci and Sandee Vogelson – all cancer survivors.
