Record-Breaking Cooper Red Hot Gala Raises More Than $1.6 Million for Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper

CAMDEN, N.J. The Chairman of the Cooper Board of Trustees, George E. Norcross III, announced tonight that The Cooper Foundation raised more than $1.6 million at its sixth annual Cooper Red Hot Gala. This year’s record-breaking proceeds benefit the Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper and Cooper’s pediatric programs.

“The Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper provides children and families the best pediatric care in South Jersey,” said Norcross, who hosted the Gala. “I am thankful for the tremendous generosity our community has demonstrated in supporting the health of our children and in making Cooper the leading health system in the region.”

More than 1,000 people attended the Gala, which is one of the largest charitable fundraisers in the region, raising a total of $8 million since 2011. This year’s event, held at Vie in Philadelphia, honored Michael Goodman, MD, Chairman and Chief, of Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper, and William Sharrar, MD, Chief Emeritus of Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper.

“The record-breaking proceeds from this year’s Red Hot Gala will directly benefit the children and families of South Jersey,” said Susan Bass Levin, President and CEO of The Cooper Foundation. “Support for the Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper helps ensure that our littlest patients have access to the best pediatric doctors, nurses and specialists in a patient centered, family focused environment designed with children at heart.”

The Gala was co-chaired by Michael Hartung, owner of Mercedes Benz of Cherry Hill, and his daughter, Amanda Hartung DiMattia, general manager of Cherry Hill Auto Imports Group.
