Sofia Lomax is a nonprofit professional specializing in philanthropic marketing, communications, and community engagement. With deep roots in Cape May County, she is passionate about giving back and expanding access to quality, compassionate healthcare.
She currently serves as the Individual Gifts Officer for The Cooper Foundation at Cooper University Health Care’s Cape Regional campus, where she leads donor outreach, builds meaningful community partnerships, and helps plan and coordinate events that advance the Foundation’s mission. Sofia combines creativity, strategy, and community focus to strengthen connections, inspire generosity, and make a meaningful impact locally.
Born and raised in Cape May County, Sofia is deeply committed to strengthening the community she calls home. Prior to joining The Cooper Foundation, she gained experience in marketing and communications across industries including healthcare, hospitality, tourism, retail, and travel—working with both local businesses and national corporations. She has also produced an award-winning documentary film and other film and photography project winning local awards, bringing a creative storytelling lens to her work in philanthropy.
Sofia earned both her BA in Film, Television, and Media Arts and her MBA with a concentration in Marketing from Quinnipiac University, graduating magna cum laude. During her time at Quinnipiac, she produced and directed a short documentary that received multiple international film awards and focused her graduate research on digital and strategic marketing.
Philanthropy has been a constant in Sofia’s life—from volunteering abroad in France to raising funds for Make-A-Wish through her sorority. Today, she continues that lifelong commitment through her work at The Cooper Foundation, helping expand access to quality, compassionate health care for Cape May County and beyond.
