Susan Marie Rupp Foundation Donates $5,000 to Cancer Center
Recently, the Susan Marie Rupp Foundation of Clementon, NJ, visited MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper to donate a $5,000 check for ovarian cancer research at Cooper.
The foundation was established in memory of Susan Marie Rupp, who lost her eight-year battle to ovarian cancer in 2010. Its mission is to raise awareness of ovarian cancer, educate women of the symptoms and raise money for research.
Dressed in teal – the signature color for ovarian cancer awareness – foundation representatives and relatives of Susan Marie Rupp, presented the donation to Susan Bass Levin, President and CEO, The Cooper Foundation, and Dr. Generosa Grana, director of MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper.
“We appreciate the Susan Marie Rupp Foundation’s generosity and commitment to ovarian cancer awareness,” Levin said.
Shawn Rupp, Public Relations Director of the Susan Marie Rupp Foundation, said his mom was dedicated to the children in her hometown of Pine Hill, NJ by supporting education and youth athletics, in addition to spreading awareness of ovarian cancer as a “silent killer.”
“She would be proud because we are continuing her mission,” said Shawn about the foundation’s support of cancer research at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper. “We’re getting that message out. We’re carrying that torch for her.”
