The Cooper Quilters: Crafting Comfort and Community

The Cooper Quilters are a dedicated group of women who share a passion for quilting and giving back to their community. Led by Carolyn Shelby, these women create handmade quilts that bring warmth and comfort to patients at Cooper University Health Care.
“We see the happiness our quilts bring to those in need, and that joy fuels our passion to keep giving back.” says Carolyn Shelby, leader of the Cooper Quilters.
In addition to their work with patients, the Cooper Quilters play a key role in community fundraising. They have organized quilt shows and online auctions to support the Pink and Teal Fund, which benefits breast and gynecologic cancer initiatives. The group further demonstrates their commitment by contributing monthly donations to the fund.
Their work extends to other meaningful projects, including crafting patriotic quilts for WWII veterans and creating items for fundraising baskets for Pink Roses and Teal Magnolias and other community events. Their efforts have raised significant funds and brought joy to recipients.
The Cooper Quilters meet frequently, not only to work on their projects but also to support one another and strengthen their bonds. Their shared purpose and dedication to helping others continue to inspire their work.
By combining their quilting skills with a drive to give back, the Cooper Quilters are making a difference in the lives of patients and in the South Jersey community.
