Women’s Council of Realtors SNJ “Bras for a Cause” Raises $34,000 to Support Breast Cancer Research and Care at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper

BERLIN, N.J. – The Southern New Jersey Chapter of the Women’s Council of Realtors announced that their 7th Annual Bras for a Cause event raised more than $34,000 for The Cooper Foundation’s Pink Roses Teal Magnolias Fund which supports breast and gynecologic cancer research and clinical programs at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper.

“The money we raised through Bras for a Cause will benefit women and families right here in our local community,” said Council President Elaine Hewitt. “We are proud to support MD Anderson at Cooper and join the fight against breast cancer.”

More than 300 people attended the event held on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at Paris Caterers in Berlin, N.J.

In what has become known as the “Mummers Parade of Bras,” 21 brave male volunteers took to the runway to model original and imaginative bras, created especially for the annual fundraiser. Guests had the opportunity to bid on the bras and all proceeds were donated to The Cooper Foundation to help fight cancer.

“We are grateful the South Jersey Women’s Council of Realtors and the local real estate community for their commitment to making a difference in the lives of our patients and their families,” said Susan Bass Levin, President and CEO of The Cooper Foundation. “Support for advanced clinical care and research at MD Anderson Cooper will help us make cancer history.”
