Women’s Pickleball Tournament: A Game-Changer for Patients in Need
On October 19, the spirit of camaraderie and compassion came alive at the Pennsauken River Road Courts. This year, the women’s pickleball group raised an impressive $1,840 for Cooper’s Patient in Need Fund, showcasing the collective effort and dedication of our community. The tournament attracted 45 generous donors, some of whom are survivors.
The Cooper Foundation’s Patient in Need Fund assists cancer patients in financial distress with small grants for transportation, utility bills, prescription co-pays and other necessities. It is often a patient’s last resort after all other sources of support have been exhausted. The grant also provides wigs and cosmetic support for women undergoing cancer treatment who could otherwise not afford them.
Beyond the fundraising, the event was a joyous celebration of both sport and solidarity, highlighting the strength and resilience of those fighting or surviving breast cancer.
We are deeply grateful for the enthusiasm and dedication of everyone involved—participants, donors, and volunteers alike. Together, we have not only raised vital funds but also fostered a sense of connection and support that empowers our mission.
